ARTIST BIO

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Grass Valley native, Mellissa Jarrette, has been honing her skills in acrylic painting for the past 40 plus years. She has done large-scale murals for renowned resorts, intimate portraits for both professional athletes and close friends, and acrylic wave statement pieces for homes and businesses interested in bringing the outside in through stunning, nature-inspired art.

She briefly attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco after developing her skills through her lower education and time spent at Sierra College in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Her art has been enhanced by her travels and lives lived in the husky snow of North Lake Tahoe, California; the salt and sun of Kona, Hawaii; care free culture in the Cayman Islands, Belize, Nicaragua, Mexico and the mountains and valleys of her hometown, Grass Valley. Her love of people and places inspires her art.
